HISTORY & DISTANCES BETWEEN BILLBOARDS AROUND POYDRAS STREET

  1. 537 South Claiborne Avenue (at the intersection of Poydras) It was an old billboard on angle iron steel structure.  Approximately in July 2011 it was allowed to be converted into a two sided digital billboard on a new structure with a new permit.
    The distance between #1 and #4 billboards is only 174 feet, well short of the 1000 foot threshold setback required by the 1992 CNO billboard Regulations.

  2. 535 South Derbigny Street (LSU Medical School parking lot).  This is a digital two-sided billboard.  It was approved in 2019. Despite it being in prohibited zone of Medical Service District.  Subsequently, the zoning was changed in July 2022 by council woman District B.
    The distance between #1 and #2 billboards is only 415 feet, well short of the 1000 foot threshold setback required by the CZO of 2015 and 1992 CNO billboard Regulations.

  3. 1923 Poydras Street.  This two-sided digital billboard was approved in May 2019.
    The distance between #1 and #3 billboard is only 232 feet, well short of 1000 feet threshold setback required by the CZO of 2015 and 1992 CNO billboard Regulations.

  4. 617 South Claiborne Avenue.  This billboard is a static two-sided billboard.  It is on old style angle iron structure.  The date of its installation is unknown.
    The distance between #1 and #4 billboard is only 174 feet, well short of the 1000 foot threshold setback required by the 1992 CNO billboard Regulations.

  5. 629 South Claiborne Avenue.  This two-sided billboard is a new structure.  The old business signboard was installed on Lafayette Street showing Marco outdoor advertising company facing S. Claiborne Avenue traffic.
    In 2015 the old signboard of Marco was removed and a brand new one sided digital and one sided static billboard was installed parallel to South Claiborne Avenue on the same property with a permit issued by CNO on March 1, 2016.
    The distance between #4 and #5 billboard is only 174 feet, well short of 1000 feet threshold setback required by the CZO of 2015 and 1992 CNO billboard Regulations.

  6. 1793 Julia Street.  This is a two-sided static billboard installed in June 2011.
    The distance between #5 and #6 is only 498 feet, well short of the 1000 foot threshold required by the 1992 CNO billboard Regulations.

  7. 717 Bertrand Street.  This is a two-sided digital billboard and was installed prior to 2015.
    The distance between #5 and #7 billboard is only 414 feet, well short of the 1000 foot threshold required by the CZO of 2015 and 1992 CNO billboard Regulations.

  8. 2028 Lafayette Street.  This was a static two-sided billboard installed prior to July 2008.  However, in 2015 without any permit it was converted into a two-sided digital billboard.
    The distance between #7 and #8 billboards is only 379 feet, well short of the1000 feet threshold required by the 1992 CNO billboard Regulations.
